For over 30 years, the San Fernando Valley Bruins have been providing financial assistance to outstanding freshman and transfer students to help them achieve their dream of a UCLA education. Nearly 150 students from our local high schools and community colleges now call themselves “Alumni Scholars” by virtue of their membership in the prestigious Alumni Scholars Club, an organization of Bruins distinguished by academic excellence and engagement with the University and the community. Our scholars have traditionally graduated from UCLA with honors and many of them have gone on to pursue graduate degrees at equally prestigious institutions in such areas as law, medicine, public policy, and education.
